Behold Your God:
The Weight of Majesty

by
John Snyder

“God Himself is the great attraction to the Christian life,” says author John Snyder. And knowing the character of God is the secret to living it. Our goal in life should be to know God deeply and personally, and His Word is the way to His heart.

As all relationships require effort, we need to spend time with God every day in prayer and in His Word. God will transform our lives as we put off our old self, renew our minds in His truth, and put on the new self (Ephesians 4:22-24). God created us in His image, and we will reflect the character of God more and more as we seek to know Him fully.

Job 42:5  “I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you.”

God is incomprehensible.

It’s impossible to fully grasp His character and His ways, but He wants us to keep seeking Him. The more we get to know Him, the more we realize how little we know and how unfathomable He is. It keeps us humble, and it keeps us from limiting our understanding of God’s character to the capacity of our human minds.

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor? Or who has first given to Him that it might be paid back to him again? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen. Romans 11:33-36

So, what do you need to remove from your life? What do you need to add to your life?

This workbook helps you reflect on that and gives examples of how to apply these truths to your life.

Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. Colossians 2:6-7

  • Walk in Him. Your walk is the everyday life that you’re living and is infused with every truth you know about God. Walk toward the destination of complete conformity to Christ’s character.
  • Root yourself firmly in Christ. Sink your roots into Him instead of other things that seem to offer security like marriage, children, job, finances, etc.
  • Build a life on truth. Each truth you learn is a brick. Keep building on each brick until you’ve built a dwelling place for the Lord, not just a pile of bricks.
  • Become established in your faith. Grow into a mature Christian.
  • Be grateful. It’s all worthless if you’re not overflowing with gratitude to God.
Don't be discouraged by God's incomprehensibility. It's one of the shining features of His splendor and a truth that separates Him from all else. #TheHeartoftheAuthor #podcast #BeholdYourGod Click To Tweet
