A CHRIST-CENTERED WEDDING:
REJOICING IN THE GOSPEL ON YOUR BIG DAY
by: Catherine Strode Parks and Linda Strode
Marriage is a reflection of the gospel
Avoid bridzilla! Instead of a bride-centered wedding, plan a Christ-centered wedding. Marriage is God’s idea and it is a reflection of the gospel. The extravagance of the bride is to magnify her bridegroom, just as we, the bride of Christ, are to magnify Him. It doesn’t downplay the importance of the bride, it just shifts the focus.

The bride is to be a servant, not selfish. The balance of extravagance is not a formula or pattern, but comes from a desperate dependence on the Lord, as marriage does. As Christians we have more to celebrate than anyone, so we should celebrate huge.
Everyone is invited
Both a wedding and funeral are opportunities to display Christ. The best wedding ceremony is one where everyone worships. And a perfect ceremony is coming and everyone is invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
Let’s make every day, the best day ever!
