Prepare your heart for Christmas. Though we are called to be faithful there is only One who is always faithful. He is worthy of all our devotion, our worship and praise.

God is faithful –

To keep His promises (Ps 145:13)

To forgive our sins when we confess (1 John 1:9)

To strengthen us (2 Thes 3:3)

To show compassion (Lam 3:22)

When we are faithless (2 Tim 2:13)

To come a second time (Rev 22:20)

My favorite Christmas song

O Come All You Faithful is probably my favorite Christmas song. When my kids were very young we went the candlelight service at my parents’ church. I have a vague memory of my dad singing in Latin, “Adeste Fideles.”

My daughter was adorable dressed in her new velvet Christmas dress. My son was little enough to stand on the pew. When this song played he amused us all by whispering the first line of the chorus:

O come let us adore Him

Then beginning the crescendo:

O Come let us adore Him

Then nearly yelling at the top of his lungs with gusto:

O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!

Be faithful to worship

What did the faithful come to do? Worship Christ. Will you be faithful to worship?

The fruit of the Spirit is….

Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness
